This Sunday (4-29-12) we enter Week #3 of our Bible Study, The Path of the Blind. Our discussion this week centers on the shadows that lie across the path of sin. The first of these shadows is the shadow of deceit. Missing the mark is always rooted to a lie and is lived out within us through a misappropriated faith. Become a person rooted in the truth, aligned to God through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
Just today, I was reminded how pervasive is this shadow across our country (http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/5-new-lies-that-the-federal-reserve-is-telling-the-american-people ) and our world. This Sunday’s sermon: The Sign of Jonah tells us that it is a wicked and perverse generation that seek a sign of God beyond or in place of the resurrection. How many lost people don’t turn to the Lord today because they are still waiting for something more than the resurrection to occur? Most don’t know that of first importance is the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus; everything else is secondary at best.
Keep what is of first importance (I Corinthians 15: 3-8) at work in your life and the power of the resurrection enable you to do all things through Christ who strengthens you!
These are the Shadows across the Path.
1. Deceit, 2. Doubt, 3. Division/Debt, 4. Despair, 5. Death, 6. Destruction
